Pregnancy Resources
“I just found out I’m pregnant, and I have NO IDEA what to do now.”
Has this thought ever crossed your mind? Has a friend ever said this to you? Is this your situation right now?
Whether for yourself or on behalf of a loved one, you should know that there are countless resources in the state of Massachusetts designed to support people facing unplanned pregnancies. We believe that everyone experiencing an unplanned pregnancy should have full access to every resource they need to thrive. Did you expect this to happen? Maybe not. Still, you should have every opportunity to choose this moment to begin life as a parent. May your decision be a fully empowered one.
If you’re pregnant and wondering, what on earth do I do now? We are here for you!
First: Take a breath. When your mind is racing, it’s tough to think clearly or know what to do first. Take some deep breaths to calm your body. Know that you are not alone. If you feel as though you lack support, there are many local resources designed to support YOU. It’s just a matter of finding them, and we can help you do that!
Second: You need to medically confirm your pregnancy, as the urine pregnancy test you just took can’t tell you everything you need to know. An ultrasound will help you determine if the pregnancy is viable, as an estimated 1 in 5 known pregnancies end naturally through miscarriage (1). It’s best to confirm that your pregnancy is viable and located inside your uterus (where it should be) before moving forward.
You can contact your doctor or schedule an appointment here at Clearway Clinic to get this information. This is a great first step, especially if you’re unsure what your decision will be. This step will provide you with information and confidence to make your pregnancy decision. At Clearway, one of our patient advocates will also work with you to get you connected to the resources you may need.
