Pregnancy Resources
Did you just find out you're pregnant and don’t know what to do?
So, you bought a pregnancy test and waited for what feels like forever for it to process: and it’s positive! You probably have a million thoughts racing through your head and are asking yourself, what do I do now?
First: Breathe. Whether you got the result you wanted or not, chances are your head is a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions, making it tough to think clearly or know what to do first. Know that you are not alone! Even if you have no or little support, there are a ton of local resources to support you.
Second: You need to medically confirm your pregnancy, as the urine pregnancy test you just took can’t tell you if the pregnancy is thriving or going to continue (1 to 3 known pregnancies within the 1st trimester end naturally through miscarriage, or 10-20% of all pregnancies).
You can contact your doctor or find your closest local pregnancy center, such as Clearway Clinic, to help. This is a great first step, especially if you’re unsure what your decision will be. This step will give you the information, education and confidence you need to take that next step, deciding to continue this pregnancy or not.
You may feel like abortion is your only option because you have no support or encouragement, you feel all alone, and you can’t possibly fathom the idea of having a baby right now. But there is so much help in every city or large town to assist you, from housing to material goods such as clothes, diapers and baby items. There is help for your education, job skills training and job placement. Help with your living situation, emotional support, financial support and childcare.
All you need to do is reach out. Clearway is a great place to start, as we have been helping women just like you for the past 20 years.
To give you an idea of the support that’s available, here is a sampling of local resources available in the Worcester or Springfield area:
