Many times when a woman who is still living in her parents’ home discovers that she is pregnant, the very real possibility of being kicked out of her home is a scary reality. When someone is facing homelessness, life changes rapidly and decision making regarding the pregnancy can be affected based on circumstances. But deep down you may feel that having an abortion is not right for you and you really do want to have the baby. What will you do?
You need to know that there are so many organizations set up to help you in your time of need. There are state programs designed to keep you from becoming homeless as well as local, community organizations and non-profit faith based places for you to stay. If you know where to go to reach our for help you will get the information you need, the next steps to take and even the financial help to be able to have a safe place to live, have your baby and provide for both of you. You should know too that any mention of help for “families” includes pregnant women. Below are some of the connections you can make to get started on keeping you safe and giving you a home. You lose nothing by asking questions and getting information – everyone needs help some time in their life.
