- Works by delaying or preventing the release of an egg from the ovary
- Is NOT the same as the abortion pill (RU 486)
- Is NOT meant to be used as a regular birth control method

- If it has been more than 24 hours after unprotected intercourse it may not be effective
- If conception has already taken place, Plan B will not work
